Thomas Deverin

A Doctorate student at Virginia Tech

My name is Thomas Deverin, and I'm a Computer Science Doctorate student at Virginia Tech. I also received my Masters degree in computer science in 2025 and Bachelor's degree in computer science from Virginia Tech in 2023.

My research is in computer science/digital education, with a particular focus on developing educational mediums for elementary school children to learn programming. I am currently working on a project called CokeKids to help children learn computational concepts.

I am also interested in becoming a computer science instructor after graduating! I have been a teaching assistant for three years and love helping students learn computer science!
